Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited Psychotherapist. I offer counselling and psychotherapy in Kingston-upon-Thames on both a short term and long term basis.
My aim is to offer a safe place where you can talk about aspects of your life that trouble you or you feel the need to change. The therapeutic process can help you to challenge old patterns of behaviour in your life and relationships that are no longer useful. As a result of this you may find it easier to make new choices.
What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy
As an Integratively trained therapist I draw on different theoretical approaches that fit with each other as well as fit with the client. I am committed to the therapeutic relationship and my clients and believe this entails relating warmly and with humanity to another. The aim of the therapeutic process is to enable clients to clarify, address and resolve issues either from the past or present that restricts their life or causes pain.Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy
I have completed two courses both of three years duration. The first a Diploma in Integrative Counselling which I studied at Kingston College. The second was at the Metanoia Institute which was again in the Integrative Department and culminated in a Diploma in Psychological Studies.
Before embarking on these courses I had been working as a Samaritan for a number of years and during my training years I worked in my local Bereavement Service both as a counsellor and then latterly as a supervisor. I also worked in a local GP surgery for seven years. Throughout my training I have always worked in private practice.
