Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist with 12 years experience in both long term work and brief therapy - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), privately and in the NHS. I offer individual and couple counselling in Little Venice in West London as well as in East London.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I completed a comprehensive 5 year training in Transpersonal Psychotherapy in 2000. A Transpersonal approach views the challenges that we are faced with as opportunities for change, growth and new direction. My training has been integrative and includes extensive experience of Psychodynamic, Existential, Person Centred and Humanistic approaches.

My training and experience enables me in my practice to offer a wide variety of approaches so I can work with what you are presenting in the most effective way.

My experience is wide-ranging, particularly given the depth of experience gained from my work in GP practices, offering short-term therapy using Cognitive Analytical and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which enable people to identify and challenge their habitual ways of thinking and acting. My work in the NHS has included treating various types of depression, phobias, stress, anxiety and eating disorders. I also have experience of working with anger management and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and have done some research in these areas.

I offer couples counselling, I have specialised in bereavement counselling for two years and many people come to see me for this in my private practice. Antenatal/postnatal counselling and parenting skills is an additional service I offer, in conjunction with my current work.

I have seen people's health, well-being and relationships improve during therapy. Counselling is a way to resolve problems, to regain clarity and a sense of balance and fulfilment. Follow-up appointments have shown how effective sessions have been for people who have seen me.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Humanistic Psychotherapist since 2001
  • Advanced Diploma Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy - Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) London (UK) 2001

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) London.
