Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited Counsellor. I am originally from America but I now consider the United Kingdom my home. I provide counselling in offices located in the areas of: Woodside Park, in the ward of Totteridge which is close to Whetstone and easy access to: Barnet and North, East, West & Finchley Central. I'm also in close proximity to Mill Hill and Edgware. Easy access via bus or tube. I have been in private practice in London for a number of years and also work as a Counsellor providing counselling for a local charity in Barnet. I provide individual and couples counselling. I am a Qualified Advisor through the Citizens’ Advice Bureaux. I have been the Clinical Services Manager for 5 years for a local Counselling charity and am responsible for the Counsellors and Therapists who work for the charity ensuring the services provided are within the BACP guidelines and meet the needs of the clients.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work integratively. Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy recognises that there are significant connections between all approaches to therapy and counselling. The integrative approach acknowledges that you are a unique individual and that different people have different needs, that no one single approach is sufficient. Integrative counselling can provide a more in depth and open ended approach and the process is allowed to run its natural course.

Integrative counselling is inspired by a range of creative theories, which include:

- Psychodynamic/Relating to others
- Person Centred
- Gestalt
- Transactional Analysis
- Transpersonal
- Cognitive Behavioural

Intergrative Counselling takes a holistic view of how to work with clients. It considers the whole person: mind, body and spirit. It is a thinking, sensing, feeling and intuitive way of working.
