Clinical Experience in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy Registered Psychotherapist. For almost 30 years I have worked in Art Therapy and Psychotherapy with adults, adolescents and families, in the NHS, social services and now privately. I offer Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, short and long term group therapy, Psychoanalytic Group Therapy and supervision and consultancy for other professionals in Central and North London and South Oxfordshire.

What to Expect during Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

My focus is on the person rather than the symptom. My approach is influenced both by Group Analytic and Jungian theory. I believe that individuals are influenced by the social and family context in which they find themselves and are also affected by the political climate and environmental changes they live through.

In group therapy one can develop one’s capacity to help others as well as receiving help oneself. As the group develops mutual trust, group members provide a mirror for each other which is illuminating and challenging.

In individual Art Therapy, art materials, provide a medium for developing a dialogue with hidden parts of oneself. One of my patients once described this process as, "a gentle and elegant way of digging deep."

Clinical Qualifications in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Analytical Psychotherapist since 1996
  • Health Professions Council (HPC) Registered Art Therapist since 1980
