Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Many of us at some point in our lives experience difficulties resulting in distressing emotional symptoms including loss, personal and working relationship difficulties, unexplained anxiety or sadness and loss of purpose. I provide a confidential and non-judgemental counselling space in Covent Garden, Central London where you can address your concerns and fears in a calm, safe and confidential atmosphere, in order to identify the root cause(s) of your unhappiness, enabling you to start making appropriate and realistic changes in your life. I am a Registered Psychotherapist of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am bound by its code of ethics. I also undertake regular, confidential supervision. Prior to developing a private psychotherapy practice I worked for the Charities SANE, the Samaritans and ARICAS (now Freedom Without Fear) which helps couples in abusive relationships.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist which means I work with the whole person including mind, body and spirit. I represent a broad range of therapeutic methods as I believe that no one approach has all the answers.

It is my experience that problems can be cured by talking, however, I find it more realistic to think in terms of "change" rather than "cure". Therapy can bring about many changes in your life, but the outcomes will vary according to the nature of your problem, your life circumstances, your commitment to therapy, my expertise as your therapist and the quality of the relationship between us.

People often want to know how long the therapy will take. The unsatisfactory answer is that it can vary a lot. Some people just need a few sessions, or simply an assessment, and never see a therapist again. Others, with more complicated or deep seated problems the process can take longer.

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Member (MBACP) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2004
