Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and a General Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). I have a private counselling and psychotherapy practice in Clapham in South West London. I have been working in private practice since 1998 and have learned a lot from my experience as a practitioner. I have also worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in the voluntary sector working with patients struggling with addiction, mental health issues and sexual abuse (sexual, physical, emotional and abuse). I have managed organisations in the charity sector, working with young people providing education and counselling and I have worked with patients struggling with addiction issues in treatment centres.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work as an integrative therapist which means I incorporate many approaches of therapy into my clinical practice. For example, the Humanistic, Person Centered, Gestalt, Existentialism, Object Relations and Psychodynamic as well as the Developmental Model and the Twelve Step Model. I work both short and long term with individuals and couples, however I tend to work more long term with patients and clients because I prefer to develop trusting relationships and this takes time to build, which mirrors our lives in the world. Therefore, I work more relational.

I specialise in addiction and have a special interest in sex addiction both with men and women who struggle with avoiding intimacy and focus on the act of sex, pornography, sexual anorexia. I work with with individuals struggling with psychosexual issues, for example, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus, low libido and so on. My times of working are Monday 9am-12 noon, Tuesday and Wednesday 3-9pm, Saturdays 10am-1pm.

I am also a provider for private health care insurance companies, which are, AXA PPP, BUPA, Cigna, Pru Health, Standard Life and Aviva. Please note that private health care appointments cost £150.00.

I am also a Consultant who provides Organisational Development for individuals and organisations so they can develop team building and provide a better service within their practice or organisation.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2004
  • Advanced Diploma Psychotherapy - College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) London (UK) 2001
