What to Expect during Psychotherapy

After an initial assessment in Highbury, London, there is no need to continue if you do not wish to. You and I may use the time to explore the current concerns for which you are considering Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. You and I will then be able to establish if my Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment. To get the most from Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect.

As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Analytical Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in using Eclectic Therapy, Jungian Analysis and Psychodynamic Therapy to assist people to live more fully.

Eclectic Therapy

I draw on varied schools of psychoanalytic thought People bring to me their concerns about their state of mind and their relationships, both personal and professional. Our discussions move between current experiences, memories, dreams and fantasies: the conscious and the unconscious. A greater confidence and wellbeing can result. Generally 50 to 400 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Jungian Analysis

I have been particularly influenced by the work of Jung but also Freud, Klein, Winnicott and Bion. Generally 50 to 400 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Psychodynamic Therapy

In exploring what it might be that prevents people from leading their lives as fully as they would like, it often becomes apparent - even where outwardly things were 'normal' - that childhood experiences and relationships are playing a part. It can be liberating to revisit these. Generally 50 to 400 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
