Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with considerable experience working with people presenting with a wide range of concerns. I am an Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist of the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP) and a Registered Psychotherapist of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am also a Member of the South West Existential Psychotherapy Alliance.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I work integratively, within an existential framework. This approach highlights the uniqueness of the individual's struggle to find an identity in the world that allows acceptance of one's self and of others.

I provide a space where you can feel comfortable and at ease, and where you have the opportunity to explore as much or as little of your concerns as you choose to bring. As your therapist I will be non-judgmental and respect your values, choices and lifestyle; listen carefully to you and offer support and understanding, in a non-critical way; help you to explore areas of your feelings, thinking and behaving where you may experience being stuck; facilitate you in making appropriate choices, decisions, or changes.

In my approach, I believe strongly in the autonomy and empowerment of the individuals with whom I work, and subscribe to the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, an MA in Existential Psychotherapy and a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision. I regularly attend continuing professional workshops to add to my range of skills and expertise. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor.
