Clinical Experience in Psychology

I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I offer private psychology services in Wootton, Northampton. I also work in the NHS within a community mental health team offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a wide range of difficulties. Common referrals include anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), past trauma including abuse, phobias, anger management, stress and interpersonal problems. I also have experience working within the forensic field working with adults and adolescents.

What to Expect during Psychology

The focus of my psychology practise is centred around the principles of CBT which is an active approach to present day problems. CBT explores the link between our thoughts, feelings and behaviour and how the problem is developed, maintained and in turn resolved. CBT can be an effective and efficient way of addressing problems best supported by the work and effort put in by the client themselves both within, and between sessions. The approach therefore requires a collaborative and supportive relationship between client and therapist.

Clinical Qualifications in Psychology

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist having completed my Doctorate in the University of Surrey in 2002. Since then I have worked within the forensic field at Broadmoor Hospital and then progressed to working with a wide range of mental health problems with adults.
