Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Hello. My name is Julia Pikal. I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist. I help people to address the causes of problems, reduce symptoms, and live more fully. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy clinic is located in North Marylebone, London.

A Psychotherapist since December 2005, I have 6 years of experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and helping with the particular issues they encounter. My specialist experience is in Anxiety, Couple Relationships, Depression and Personal Relationships.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

At an initial appointment in North Marylebone, London, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. As Client and Therapist, we may take the opportunity to explore the current or unresolved past difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to determine if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment, concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported, develop your insight of your thoughts and how they may increase or decrease your symptoms and tailor therapy to you and your needs. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to be open to change, participate, speak openly with me and reflect and work collaboratively.

As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Jungian Analysis, Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Transpersonal Therapy to assist people to alleviate their distress.

Integrative Therapy

The benefit of Integrative Therapy is that it includes working with all the different therapeutic approaches, which means that I can tailor therapy to suit each individual. I will work with you in a collaborative way offering unconditional positive regard in a safe, confidential environment. Generally 12 to 48 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
