Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychology

I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Counselling Psychologist working for the NHS and Priory alongside my private practice. I can provide a safe and comfortable environment for clients to explore and begin to understand their issues and experiences and then help them to find useful tools and techniques to overcome their difficulties. With over ten years experience I have worked in a range of settings in different areas across London and in my current locality. These settings have given me the opportunity to learn how to relate to people from all walks of life.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychology

The main approach I use is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This approach works well for most issues. The premise is that it helps a person to identify the negative or unhelpful thought patterns that may be causing or aggravating their bad feelings.

Once these thoughts are identified, we then work together to create alternative more helpful thinking styles in order to improve the bad feelings and change the unhelpful behavioural patterns.

This approach is seen as being more effective due to the fact that it provides a person with useful tools and strategies that they can continue to use beyond therapy.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychology

BSc in Social Psychology at Loughborough University
MSc in Counselling Psychology at London Metropolitan
Post Graduate Practitioner Diploma in Counselling Psychology at London Metropolitan
British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartership as a Counselling Psychologist

Additional Information

I run my private practice from my own home, which is set in a quiet village location.

I also provide personal therapy and supervision to trainee counsellors and psychologists.
