Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

In the beginning I saw clients at a GP's surgery working with many different issues. I also worked in bereavement agencies and a telephone helpline that helped with sexuality and sexual advice. For the last few years I have enjoyed the challenge of being a volunteer counsellor with the Everyman Project which aims to help men to change their anger, violent or abusive behaviour. I also do assessments for clients wanting to come attend the project. I also work for Bupa as a Trauma Incident Manager offering onsite support to large companies. I work with the company that have experienced a traumatic event. I also work for Bupa as a telephone counsellor and I monitor high risk cases. In the evenings I have a private practise working from home in Cheam and have a comfortable room in a great location in the City of London.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

From adolescence through to late adulthood, there are certain times when we need help addressing problems and issues that may cause us emotional distress or make us feel overwhelmed. Some of the reasons people come to me for short or long term counselling include:

• Anxiety, Stress and bullying in the work Place
• Anger Management
• Anger, Abusive & Violent relationships
• Boredom
• Bereavement and loss
• Cultural Issues
• Depression
• Dyslexia and learning difficulties
• Feeling lonely and Isolated
• Improving Performance
• Redundancy
• Relationships
• Sexuality
• Self Harm
• Trauma
• Unable to look at feelings
• Unable to talk about what is going on
• Work Issues

By taking a holistic approach I can help you understand your true self by bringing together your mind, body and soul, thus empowering you to find your true potential.

By exploring your main beliefs, exercise, diet and life balance, I aim to help you feel better and to achieve the changes you would like by offering a special relationship where my attention and focus is fully on you, and the state of our relationship.

I strive to be genuine and honest and empathic in my relationship with you, and to keep the atmosphere safe. It is this kind of situation that is the seed-bed for growth, change and moving on.

During everyday relationships people face many important decisions and turning points. Meeting with a counsellor can be a way to open up communications again through better understanding of the underlying issues.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • BA Counselling and Psychotherapy - Integrative - Guildford College of Further and Higher Education (UK) 2009
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2007

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Additional Information

Counselling as I am sure you are aware is no quick fix, and is extremely hard work. From experience, speaking to a stranger about personal issues that you might not have spoken about before can be therapeutic.
