Clinical Experience in Psychology and Psychotherapy
Accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) I am a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist in Carlisle. I have experience of working with a wide range of problems and clients from age five to sixty five. I have worked with adults, families and children within an NHS setting over the last nine years.
What to Expect during Psychology and Psychotherapy
Although Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is my dominant therapeutic approach in usefully exploring difficult, and often painful, emotions and experiences, I also work in an integrative way to meet client's needs. I use elements of psychodynamic, systemic and interpersonal therapeutic approaches to help the person gain an increased capacity for choice, through which the individual may then become more autonomous and self determined.Clinical Qualifications in Psychology and Psychotherapy
I gained my undergraduate degree in Psychology followed by a Psychology related MSc in Psychobiology of Stress. I successfully completed a BSc (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) over four years ago and since then have also completed a MSc, with Commendation, in Psychology in Healthcare.
