What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy
After a preliminary meeting in Cardiff, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can make use of the supportive environment to explore the particular concerns for which you seek Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to determine if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported, develop your knowledge of causes of concerns so you discover what to change or accept, tailor therapy to you and your needs and work towards ending therapy when it is right for you. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to be open to change, speak openly with me and reflect and work collaboratively.
As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor and UK Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP) Registered Independent (UKRCP Reg Ind) Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Person Centred Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy to work with people to improve their wellbeing.

I have experience as a Visiting Lecturer on the Foundation Degree in Counselling Skills at the University of Wales Newport (UK) and as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Sesame Counselling Service (UK).
After a successful seventeen year career in IT, I decided that it simply wasn't enough. I wasn't satisfied, so I started a journey of transformation involving deep personal reflection and soul searching. These journeys take courage and I sincerely hope that you find the courage to take your own journey and that you find the support you need to sustain it.
Good luck with whichever path you choose!
With best wishes,Phil.
