Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). My area of interest is in working with clients who know they are not achieving their full potential in life. They are the kinds of people who procrastinate and who believe they lack the confidence to do things. They are the sorts of people who know they are avoiding situations and hiding away. They feel anxiety and disquiet about having squandered their possibilities and know they could be doing so much more. I specialise in short-term therapy and have background experience in the NHS and academic institutions as well as in private practice.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

My aim is to help my clients achieve the biggest possible change in the shortest possible time. This usually means 2-4 sessions of face to face work which can then be supplemented by a catch-up appointment every few months if needed.

Due to the nature of the way I work, clients must be prepared to do exercises between sessions. Written exercises are now done online using a specially developed software application. The app also affords clients a confidential virtual space where they can book appointments and track their progress. It also means they can easily and effortlessly continue to check in with me after therapy has successfully ended.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist since 2008
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Member (MBACP) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2008
  • UKCP Accredited Training Counselling and Psychotherapy - School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology Regent's College (SPCPRC) London Validated by City University London (UK) 2006

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA) London.
