I have been working as an individual and group therapist for over twenty years. I have experience of working with people with a variety of emotional, relationship and identity problems. As a psychotherapist I have extensive experience of doing both short term and long term therapyHow I Work
I use an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy drawing from my various interests, training and experience. The theoretical grounding for my work is Transactional Analysis (TA). This is a contractual way of working where the client is encouraged to explore and name what they want from the therapy and together the client and therapist work towards these changes.I work with an underlying philosophy that people are essentially OK and that everyone has worth, value and dignity. As a humanistic psychotherapy Transactional Analysis has a fundamental belief that the client and therapist are on an equal footing in the work they do together.
As well as my experience as a psychotherapist I trained and work as a dramatherapist. Again, depending on what the client wants from their therapy, we can explore concepts such as working with story and metaphor, guided fantasy and exploration of dreams.
In therapy I see that there is a focus on three areas: the past, coping with current life experiences and what is happening between us. I see people weekly and the length of therapy depends very much on the client and their needs.
Clinical Training in Counselling, Psychotherapy

I began training as a Psychotherapist in 1999 and qualified as a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) in 2007. I was awarded an MSc in Transactional Analysis in 2008.
