What to Expect during Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy
My work with you is guided by you: you decide what you want to explore and achieve through being in therapy with me. As part of this endeavour I try to help you to identify and develop your strengths. I also try to notice patterns and themes in your experiences, and how you engage with them, which you may not have noticed. What can be achieved and experienced through being in therapy? To feel supported, encouraged, understood and listened to; to feel more in control of your life; to have a better understanding and awareness of yourself, your feelings and other people; to have a better understanding of how your past maybe impacting on how you are now; to become more aware of your options and of alternative ways of understanding your experiences, cares and concerns.
My basic philosophical approach to life is: the more self aware we are, the more choice we have regarding 'how to be'.
