Clinical Experience in Counselling
I have worked as a counsellor in both the NHS and the voluntary sector. In addition to running my own private counselling practice, I work for relate-teen as a children and young people counsellor, and offer men's counselling within a local mental health project. I also work part-time on a multi-media project for vulnerable adults living in the community.
I started my career as a primary school teacher, and have subsequently worked in various management roles, spending several years as a community development officer, before moving into a director role for a management consultancy.
More recently, I have set up krysallis, which is a development consultancy with a wellbeing focus. I use an array of creative and experiential techniques to help people make changes and provide a safe, private and secure space for clients to work through personal difficulties and make changes.
What to Expect during Counselling
I have a strong belief that the power of therapeutic change stems from the relationship that builds between the therapist and their client. My genuine, honest and authentic approach helps to create a therapeutic relationship which people can relate to and feel comfortable experiencing. This creates a space where people feel able to open up and communicate at a personal and intimate level.Clinical Qualifications in Counselling
- British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Member (MBACP) Counsellor since 2007

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Additional Information
In my leisure time, I enjoy sports (in particular tennis, cycling, cricket and football) as well as being an avid reader, major music fan (love going to gigs and enjoy listening to indie, electronica, dance, rock and countless other genres) and keen photographer. I also love to travel and enjoy being outdoors walking in the mountains, over the hills, on the beach, on a glacier, in a volcano, up and down dale and all over the world...
