Clinical Experience in Psychotherapy

I have worked as a counsellor since 2000. I offer personal counselling and psychotherapy, on a one to one basis. I also offer telephone counselling. I normally offer counselling once a week. I can offer extended sessions, where this is is going to be helpful to my client. I am also a drugs counsellor at the Merton Adult Crack Service and can help with issues around addiction.

What to Expect during Psychotherapy

I work as a Person Centred Counsellor. This means my main aim to to accept you as you are without conditions attached, to be able to understand you from your own point of view, and to be real and genuine with you. My aim is to build up a relationship with you based on trust, so that you are free to talk about issues that really matter to you without fear of judgement.

I am also a Focusing Oriented Therapist. This involves clients slowing down their talking, and sense into their body, to find out what they are really experiencing, and checking their words or language against their 'felt experience'. I offer you both guided focusing sessions as part of the therapy, as well as 'focusing oriented' therapy. Many of my clients have benefited through learning focusing, and have told me that it is a skill they have found useful outside of the therapy session.

Clinical Qualifications in Psychotherapy

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Member (MBACP) Psychotherapist since 2009
  • MA Focusing and Experiential Psychotherapy - University of East Anglia (UK) 2009

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Psychotherapy. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Additional Information

I am also a Focusing teacher, and can offer both individual guided focusing sessions, as well as focusing oriented life coaching. Focusing is a wonderful body awareness approach to emotional healing, that has proved successful for many clients. I also offer Focusing training.
