What to Expect during Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy
I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is widely regarded as one of the most effective types of therapy for a wide range of problems. CBT is an active therapy in which both you and I take an active part in generating solutions or ways to better manage your problems. In CBT the focus is generally on difficulties in the here and now. We aim at rapid improvement in your feelings and any self-defeating behaviour that you may be caught up in. Generally, the more an individual can commit to and put into therapy the greater the probability that positive life change will result. With some clients I also use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am happy to discuss with clients as to whether this would be appropriate.
Clinical Qualifications in Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy
- Advanced Training Cognitive Behaviour Therapies (CBT) - Adults - City University London (UK) 1997
