Clinical Experience in Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist accredited with the British Psychological Society (BPS). I provide face to face counselling, psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in Farsi (Iranian), as well as in English within a long term and short term capacity. I specialise in working with anger and domestic violence, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety related problems, depression and relationship issues and difficulties. I provide evidence based psychological treatments for a wide range of diagnostic presenting problems. I closely follow the research evidence and tailor my practice accordingly. I have been practicing privately for several years and I also work for the NHS as a specialised Psychologist working with a wide range of mental health issues. I offer individual counselling, couple's counselling, group and family therapy. I also provide life coaching and the enhancement of life and personal skills and self esteem. As a member the British Psychological Society (BPS) I adhere to it's ethical guidelines in my clinical practice. This involves providing a safe, non judgemental and respectful space for clients to develop and grow.

What to Expect during Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy

As a Counselling Psychologist I have been trained to work closely with wide range of approaches with the therapeutic relationship as the common denominator.

I use specialised psychological assessment and formulation to tailor my interventions to the client's specific difficulties. The following information outlines how this process takes place.

I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a wide range of phobias, anxiety disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to enhance client's experience by teaching them strategies to change their thinking and behavioural patterns which are maintaining their presenting problems.

I work with Schemas Focused Therapy and Relational Psychodynamic counselling for complex past events and relationship issues. This involves making links between the therapeutic relationship with past and present significant relationships to facilitate change and growth.

I provide Person Centred therapy for clients to find their own answers and develop their self esteem. This process involves providing a therapeutic and containing space which can be nurturing for clients.

I also offer culturally sensitive therapy and work closely with diversity.

I regard the therapeutic relationship as the core of my practice and work collaboratively with my clients, to ensure their empowerment by continuously making choices about their course of therapy.

I believe the therapy provides a very unique experience which can be highly rewarding. Although the improvement is entirely dependent on the extent in which clients are able to engage with the therapeutic process.

I have been running groups for anger management, anxiety and depression for several years.
