Clinical Experience in Counselling

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and have been practising for seven years. I also work within the Criminal Justice System and have experience of borderline personality disorder, trauma, and people suffering extreme distress.

What to Expect during Counselling

The principles of psychodynamic counselling are derived from psychoanalysis. Psychodynamic counselling is a sophisticated technique designed for once a week (or if necessary more often) face to face work, that provides a space in which clients can start to examine their experiences of life deeply. The insights gained can help clients find greater satisfaction in their lives, improve the quality of their relationships, and remove obstacles to fulfilment. Psychodynamic counselling is not 'directive' or behavioural but concentrates instead on uncovering meaning, particularly by making links between current patterns of thought or behaviour and past experiences and
relationships. It provides a safe and supportive context for exploring issues that might be painful.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling

I did my counselling training at wpf Counselling and Psychotherapy and was awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. The training course is highly regarded and is accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). It provides both a clinical and an academic grounding in psychodynamic counselling.

I was educated at Cambridge University.

I am a member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling, and registered by the (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) UKCP.
