Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy
I have wide experience of working both long and short term. I am interested in empowerment and development whilst working with my clients, to enable them to feel more resourceful to overcome difficulties. I also enjoy working cognitively to help symptom control, in conditions such as anxiety, panic and depression.
What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy
My approach is basically person centred. Within this approach, for short term clients, I might use cognitive skills or Transactional Analysis. I adapt approaches as tools that are most likely to help the client. Psychodynamic understanding might be most helpful to long term clients. I hold a flexible approach to individuals, tailored by what may be most helpful and what help they are asking for.Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am trained to Advanced Diploma level and have continued with ongoing professional development in my areas of interest.
