Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an integrative psychotherapist and have been working as a therapist for seven years, prior to that I worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau. I have gained experience over the last seven years by working for a variety of different agencies including a community project for young mothers, an alcohol and drug agency, a GP practice and a college of further education. I currently work for Alton Counselling Service as a Counsellor and Intake Worker and work in private practice from home.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an Integrative psychotherapist, which means I am able to draw on different theoretical approaches according to my client's needs. My therapy work is always client led and I generally integrate a Humanistic and Psychodynamic approach. I find this creates a safe place for clients, allowing them to explore their issues and look for different solutions.

I am committed to continuing professional development, and have recently completed a CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) training course and some couples therapy training. I have ongoing regular clinical supervision.
