Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Welcome. My name is Michael Collins. I'm a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) and Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy consulting room is situated in Hammersmith, London. I also practise in Bethnal Green, London.

I have been a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist since July 2007 (Accredited since July 1998 and Registered since January 2013) so I have over 14 years and 11 months of post-accreditation experience of working with clients. I work with Individuals and Couples. I'm experienced in working with men and people from different backgrounds and cultures, and helping with the particular difficulties they encounter. My specialist knowledge is about Abuse.

As well as being a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice in Hammersmith, London, I have experience as a Charity, College, Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After an initial appointment in Hammersmith, London, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can use the time to explore the current or unresolved past difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment, develop your knowledge of causes of concerns so you discover what to change or accept and work towards ending therapy when it is right for you.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) and Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in using Attachment Based Therapy, Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Contemporary Psychoanalytic Therapy, Couple Therapy, Family and Relationship Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Relational Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to work with people to improve their wellbeing.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy
