Clinical Experience in Counselling, Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

I provide Counselling, Psychotherapy and Lacanian Analysis in Worcester.

What to Expect during Counselling, Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is essentially a talking therapy, but with a special focus on the unconscious meanings and motivations operating behind your symptoms and behaviour. It takes time to build up enough trust in the process to uncover the deeper forces underlying your difficulties, which is why analysis can sometimes take many years of dedicated work. Despite this the benefits are usually wide reaching, permanent and worthwhile.

Sessions are normally 50 minutes long, and occur at least once a week though more often twice a week or more.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is suitable for a wide variety of conditions, in particular chronic or lifelong difficulties.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling, Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

  • College of Psychoanalysts-UK (CP-UK) Registered Member Psychoanalyst since 2007
  • UK Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP) Registered Independent (UKRCP Reg Ind) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 1998
  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Psychoanalyst since 1998
  • UKCP Organisation Training Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy - Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR) London (UK) 1998
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 1994

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling, Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the Code of Professional Conduct of the College of Psychoanalysts-UK (CP-UK), the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the Code of Ethics of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR) London and the Conditions of Registration of the UK Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP).
