I am a qualified counsellor based in the East Hertfordshire area, with counselling rooms available in Ware, Hertford, Hoddesdon and Sawbridgeworth. I have had two years experience counselling people with issues around drug and alcohol abuse, and a further year counselling people for other emotional and psychological problems. I also have experience working with children of primary school age.How I Work
I work using the person centred approach to counselling. The person centred approach believes in the ability of the individual to find their own path through their situation or problem to an answer that's right for them...that means I don't tell you what to do, because what I think you should do may not be right for you!Instead, it is my privilege to be with you on your journey; a listening helper who acts as a sounding board, being neither judgemental nor giving advice, but helping you to explore your situation fully, so you can arrive at your own solution in your own way, and in your own time.
Clinical Training in Counselling
I gained my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling at the University of Hertfordshire. My clinical experience was in a drug and alcohol agency, and since qualifying I have set up a private practice open to anyone with any emotional issue, and continue to do the addictions work as well.Additional Information from Anjalee Carey
I am also a qualified midwife, and so understand very well about the stresses of pregnancy, childbirth and the impact of a new addition to the family as a whole. I also understand very well about the loss of a pregnancy or of a baby.Updated 05|01|2010
