Clinical Experience in Counselling

Hi. I'm Alison. I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor. I assist people, each one unique, to work through their difficulties. My private Counselling practice is based in Newark.

A Counsellor since July 2003, I have 9 years of experience in Counselling. I work with Individuals. I'm experienced in working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and helping with the particular challenges they encounter.

What to Expect during Counselling

After an initial appointment in Newark, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. As Client and Therapist, we can use the safe space to explore the personal difficulties for which you seek Counselling. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to establish if my Counselling practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment. To get the most from Counselling you will need to be able to work collaboratively.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor, I am trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Eclectic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Humanistic and Integrative Therapy, Humanistic Therapy and Person Centred Therapy to work with people to improve their wellbeing.

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor since 2005
