Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Hello. My name is Marjorie Clare. I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) and Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I help people to address the problems in their lives. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy clinic is located in Leigh.

I have been a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist since November 2006 (Registered since November 2006) so I have more than 6 years and 6 months of post-accreditation experience of working with clients. I also gained experience of working with clients as part of my training. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to men, people from corporate backgrounds, people from different backgrounds and cultures and women, and assisting with the particular challenges they encounter. My expertise is in Abuse, Adolescence, Anxiety and Depression.

In addition to being a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice in Leigh, I have experience as a College, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), GP Surgery and University Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After an initial assessment in Leigh, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We may use the safe space to explore the specific challenges for which you require Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to determine if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is appropriate for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment, concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported, tailor therapy to you and your needs and work towards ending therapy when it is right for you. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to be open to change and work collaboratively.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) and Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Couple Therapy, Humanistic and Integrative Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Cognitive Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Meditation Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MBCBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Person Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to work with people to improve their wellbeing.

Client Centred Therapy

Client Centred Therapy involves you, the client, working with the issues you feel are relevant to your therapy. You are in the 'driving seat'. Generally 4 to 10 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy consists of working with the idea that how you think affects how you feel and how you behave. If you want to change the behaviour, then change the thinking behind it. Generally 4 to 10 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Couple Therapy

Couple Therapy is a process where couples can work together, or individually, in sessions, to address the issues that affect their relationship. Generally 4 to 10 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Meditation Therapy

Through the use of meditation, the aim is to help you relax and become more aware of the way you can lead a less stressful life. Generally 4 to 10 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
