Clinical Experience in Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy

Hi. I'm Patricia. I'm a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Counselling Psychologist. I work with people to help them make sense of the thoughts and emotions they experience. My private Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy practice is based in Regent's Park, London.

A Counselling Psychologist since January 2008, I have 5 years of experience in Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy to the gay community, and dealing with the particular concerns they face. I have academic and clinical research experience in Identity.

What to Expect during Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy

After an initial appointment in Regent's Park, London, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can use the time to explore the particular concerns for which you seek Counselling, Psychology or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy practice is to concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported. To get the most from Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect and work collaboratively.

As a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Counselling Psychologist, I am trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Couple Therapy, Existential Therapy, Humanistic and Integrative Therapy and Sexual and Relationship Therapy to assist people to live more fully.

Client Centred Therapy

I focus on you as an individual without diagnosing you or passing judgement. I aim to offer a safe place to explore what is troubling you. Generally 6 to 60 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Couple Therapy

I work with heterosexual and same-sex couples. Both partners are usually expected to attend sessions and the focus is on listening to each other and opening up channels of communication. Generally 6 to 20 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Existential Therapy

I believe that as human beings we are free to make choices and must take responsibility for our choices. Working existentially I focus on such issues as death, anxiety, meaninglessness, loneliness, guilt, freedom, choice and responsibility. Generally 6 to 60 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Sexual and Relationship Therapy

The aim is to improve communication and understanding between a couple. I work with issues such as low sex drive, erectile dysfunction as well as infidelity and divorce, or simply a relationship which seems to have lost its magic. Generally 6 to 20 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy
