Hello. My name is Alison Littleford. I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I help people to address the causes of problems, reduce symptoms, and live more fully. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is situated in Wolverhampton.

A Counsellor and Psychotherapist since August 1995, I have 17 years of experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and helping with the particular concerns they face. I have academic and clinical research experience in Loss.

In addition to being a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice in Wolverhampton, I have experience as a Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After an initial assessment in Wolverhampton, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. As Client and Therapist, we can take the opportunity to assess the current difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is appropriate for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Integrative Therapy and Person Centred Therapy to assist people to get through the difficulties they experience.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • Professional Doctorate Counselling - University of Manchester (UK) 2006
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Senior Accredited (MBACP Snr Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 1997

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
