Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Welcome. I'm Joyline. I am a British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) Registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I work with people to help them make sense of the thoughts and emotions they experience. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy clinic is located in West End, London. I also practise in Waterloo, London.

I have been a BPC Registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist since September 2010 so I have more than 3 years and 4 months of post-registration experience of working with clients. I work with Individuals. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to people from different backgrounds and cultures, and assisting with the particular difficulties they encounter.

As well as being a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist in private practice in West End, London, I have experience as a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After an initial consultation in West End, London, there is no obligation to continue if you prefer not to. You and I can use the safe space to assess the current or unresolved past difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. I will then be able to ascertain if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to develop your insight of your thoughts and how they may increase or decrease your symptoms. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to work collaboratively.

As a British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) Registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy to assist people to alleviate their distress.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to give you structure, pragmatic ways of dealing with difficult feelings in everyday life, and reduce present day distress. Generally 1 to 12 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic Therapy is grounded on the principle that early life experiences shape a sense of oneself and others, with a huge part of it happening outside consciousness. Psychodynamic Therapy aims to get to the source of difficulties and enable people to live more fully. Generally 12 to 120 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • Certificate CBT Skills - Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) Therapy (UK) November 2012
  • Master of Arts Psychodynamic Theory and Practice - Roehampton University and Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) London (UK) March 2012
  • British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) Registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist since September 2010
  • BACP Accredited Advanced Diploma Psychodynamic Counselling - Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) Therapy Validated by Roehampton University (UK) September 2010

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
