Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an experienced, registered psychotherapist who could help you deal with your issues, to move on in your life, to discover your lifes' purpose and to achieve your maximum potential, both personally and professionally. Brief strategic psychotherapy can make a huge difference to your life, allowing you to deal positively with personal issues and improve your relationships at home, at work and with yourself. I also work with children and young people, helping them to overcome shyness, build confidence and self esteem, to deal effectively with bullying at school and to encourage positive personal development to enable them to reach their maximum potential, and so prepare them for life. I hold a CRB Certificate. I also work with people who are stressed. Stress is the reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demands placed on them. It arises when they worry that they can't cope. Stress counselling helps a person to understand the causes of stress, to recognise the signs of stress, and to be able to respond positively using coping strategies and relaxation techniques. Dealing with stress will include looking at a person's lifestyle, the physical, emotional and mental aspects of stress. The effects of occupational, organisational, family and social stress. Bullying and harassment at work cause serious stress to employees and can impact on home life, and conflict at home can cause problems at work. Simple time management, balancing work and life can be successful in taking charge of your life again. Moving forward will encompass problem solving and coping strategies, effectively and positively. Enabling techniques such as creative visualisation and relaxation will be used to benefit the individual along with confidence building and raising self esteem. Goal Setting and Personal Action Planning to move forward and manage stress positively in the future, from a professional and personal perspective, confidently and successfully. EMDR eye movement, desensitisation and reprocessing. This is a powerful therapeutic method of relieving different types of emotional stress caused by minor or major events, safely and effectively. It has been called 'Emotional Healing at Warp Speed' and can be used to heal children and adults. EXAMPLES ~ road accidents, drivers, passengers, onlookers. ~ unhappy memories, separation, divorce, bereavement. ~ emotional distress, bullying, home, work, school. ~ PTSD

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a caring psychotherapist who works both spiritually and intuitively with clients.

I use many different types of therapy so I am an eclectic therapist. I feel that everyone is an individual and should be treated as such, because one therapy does not fit all.

I use EMDR to treat many problems, it is effective and safe, it enables clients to return to their normal selves and to carry on with their lives.

I also use hypnosis to recover hidden memories, to deal with anxiety and panic attacks and to relax clients amongst many other conditions.

Personal development is another method of working with clients, dealing with past memories of abuse can free a client to develop into a confident happy person, who wants to move on in their life and grow as an individual.

I work with adults and children to help them to deal effectively with their issues in a safe environment.
