What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy
After an initial consultation in Lewisham, London, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. You and I can take the opportunity to explore the current or unresolved past difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is right for you.The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to develop your knowledge of causes of concerns so you discover what to change or accept. To get the most from Counselling and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect.
As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Integrative Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Client Centred Therapy, Family and Couple Therapy, Family and Systemic Therapy, Family and Systems Therapy, Family Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Therapy and Person Centred Therapy to work with people who experience problems in the areas of love, work or play.
Family and Couple Therapy
This offers the opportunity for families to come together to explore some of the issues that may be causing difficulties and conflict between individual members and to support the process of change. Partners can discuss their thoughts and feelings in order to resolve problems and make decisions together. Generally 4 to 12 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
Integrative Therapy
This approach brings together different theoretical approaches, and enables me to work with clients in a more holistic and personalised way. I am able to take into account various approaches and effectively utilise these interventions when appropriate throughout the therapy. Generally 20 to 100 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

As a therapist I can help you to overcome difficulties that you may be struggling with in your personal life. There may be things that you find difficult to come to terms with, or problems in your relationships with others. You may find it difficult to confide in those around you, or you may feel that you do not have anyone to turn to for help. I can support you to explore your difficulties, overcome past experiences and to make healthy choices for the future.
The relationship that we will develop is the key to success. By sharing your thoughts and concerns with me in a safe, confidential and supportive environment I can assist in helping you to bring positive change into your life. As we meet together we will explore your experiences, your dreams and your fears. This will help me to gain an understanding of what it's like to be you, and will help and support you to identify patterns of behaviour and thinking. I will not judge or criticise you, and will treat you with respect, regardless of what you've been through. Together we will identify areas for change.
