What to Expect during Counselling
After a preliminary meeting in Waterloo, London, there is no need to continue if you decide not to. You and I can use the safe space to explore the current or unresolved past difficulties for which you are considering Counselling. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Counselling practice is right for you.The aim of my Counselling practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment, develop your knowledge of causes of concerns so you discover what to change or accept, tailor therapy to you and your needs and work towards ending therapy when it is right for you. To get the most from Counselling you will need to be able to be open to change, participate and speak openly with me and reflect.
As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) and Registered Counsellor, I am highly trained and experienced in using Psychodynamic Therapy to assist people to get through the difficulties they experience.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy aims to help bring about lasting change, by seeking understanding of the underlying meaning of symptoms, relating styles and behaviour patterns. It focuses on your early and current life and relationships, shedding light on the connections and repetitions between past and present. Generally 6 to 50 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
