Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist who has been working in the area of mental health for nineteen years. This has involved work with the NHS, private and voluntary organisations. I am also a registered mental health nurse (RMN) and have long experience of issues in this context. My present work is as a director of counselling at an east London branch of Mind. I am happy to use the first session to discuss any questions you may have about counselling and psychotherapy or about me as a practitioner.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

Obviously therapy and choosing a therapist can be a daunting task, particularly if you have little or no knowledge of what it's all about. That is why I treat our first meeting to have an informal conversation about what your expectations are, without any obligation on your part to continue. This will give you an opportunity to assess if it would be best to commit to any future sessions and for me to advise what may be best for you.
