Clinical Experience in Psychotherapy

Welcome. My name is Colin Sutton. I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Core Process Psychotherapist. My private Psychotherapy practice is located in Exeter. I also practise in Stoke, Plymouth.

I have been a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist since June 2009 so I have more than 3 years and 11 months of post-registration experience of working with clients. I also gained years of experience of working with clients in order to qualify. I work with Individuals. I'm experienced in working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and assisting with the particular concerns they encounter. My specialist experience is in Addictions.

In addition to being a Psychotherapist in private practice in Exeter, I have experience as a Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Psychotherapy

After a preliminary meeting in Exeter, there is no obligation to proceed if you decide not to. You and I can take the opportunity to clarify the particular concerns for which you are considering Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. You can see how you feel working with me. You and I will then be able to decide if my Psychotherapy practice is right for you.

The aim of my Psychotherapy practice is to tailor therapy to you and your needs. To get the most from Psychotherapy you will need to be able to speak openly with me and reflect.

As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Core Process Psychotherapist, I am trained and experienced in using Core Process Therapy and Transpersonal Therapy to assist people to live more fully.

Core Process Therapy

Core Process Psychotherapy combines Buddhist Psychology with Western psychotherapeutic learning to foster insight and awareness into how an individual contributes to their own suffering. Generally 20 to 150 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Core Process Psychotherapist since June 2009
