Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Transpersonal Therapist. I work with people to help them make sense of the thoughts and emotions they experience. My private Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is based in Maida Vale, London.

I have been a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist since June 2007 so I have more than 6 years of post-registration experience of working with clients. In addition, I gained years of experience of working with clients in order to qualify. I work with Individuals and Couples. I am highly experienced in providing Counselling and Psychotherapy to men and people from different backgrounds and cultures, and dealing with the particular issues they face.

In addition to being a Psychotherapist in private practice in Maida Vale, London, I have experience as a Charity, College, Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Psychotherapist.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

After an initial consultation in Maida Vale, London, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can use the safe space to explore the personal difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to determine if my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is appropriate for you.

The aim of my Counselling and Psychotherapy practice is to attend to what brings you to therapy in a confidential and focused environment, concentrate on your concerns so you feel heard, respected and supported, develop your insight of your thoughts and how they may increase or decrease your symptoms and tailor therapy to you and your needs.

As a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist - Transpersonal Therapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Couple Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Jungian Analysis, Jungian Psychoanalytic Therapy, Relational Therapy and Transpersonal Therapy to work with people who experience problems in the areas of love, work or play.

Couple Therapy

You and your partner can be unconscious of what draws you to each other, but your partner-choice is not accidental. All relationships pass through stages of development, and a problem or obstacle can be an opportunity to grow. Generally 1 to 2 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative Therapy aims to facilitate an enrichment in the quality of your life, on an intrapsychic, interpersonal and sociopolitical level, by engaging with you at a level and in a way that is meaningful to you and with an informed theoretical basis from me. Generally 12 to 100 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Jungian Analysis

Jungian analysis is a psychology of the unconscious. The conscious mind/ego is only part of the psyche: the unconscious challenges the ego to consider alternative perspectives through the language of dreams and symbols. You explore in depth, to work towards achieving greater psychological balance. Generally 3 to 4 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Jungian Psychoanalytic Therapy

Jungian Therapy aims to facilitate increased balance between the conscious and unconscious, using the language of symbols that arise in your dreams, thoughts and fantasies. It might be issue-focused but may still provide a way of gaining deeper self-awareness, creatively. Generally 1 to 2 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Relational Therapy

Person-to-person relating is central. Previous relationships inform current relationships, and the therapeutic relationship provides a space where similar relational dynamics manifest. In this way they can be looked at in the here-and-now, worked through, understood and hopefully changed. Generally 1 to 2 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal Therapy covers a range of perspectives which have developed in the attempt to integrate ancient wisdom with modern knowledge. It recognises that spirituality has a central place in the human psyche, sometimes manifesting through an awareness of the collective unconscious rather than religious beliefs. Generally 12 to 100 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • MA Jungian and Post Jungian Studies - University of Essex (UK) 2009
