Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have over ten years experience of working as a psychotherapist, counsellor and creative arts therapist with adults, children and young people. As well as working as a psychotherapist in private practice, I have also worked as a counsellor in primary schools, secondary schools and a young people's centre. I set up and managed a counselling and psychotherapeutic service for parents and carers as part of a multi-disciplinary family services team.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registered Psychotherapist since 2003
  • MA Counselling and Psychotherapy - Integrative - Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) London (UK) 2003

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) London.

Additional Information

It is not always easy to find the right words, so I offer a range of techniques to help the therapeutic process, including using the creative arts (paint, clay and sandtray), working with dreams and relaxation exercises.

In my experience the use of play and art materials can really help children to express their feelings and make sense of their world. So I have a wide selection of art materials and toys for them to use in my therapy room.
