Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist practicing from central London. I work with organisations, individuals, couples and groups to faciltate change and development personally and professionally.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist, focusing on Gestalt and Object Relations. Humanistic psychotherapy is an approach which takes the whole of the person into consideration. This includes the mind, body, spirit and personal experience of the world.

All parts of the self are encouraged to show themselves and be explored. Through this exploration we get to know more of ourselves and understand splits and internal ruptures or conflicts which may be present. By exploring, knowing and accepting these parts of the self we can begin to change. In this process we move towards integration where splits in the person can be healed and deficit can be mended.

The less aware we are of our motives, feelings, thoughts, actions, perceptions, the more they control us and the more we stay stuck in outdated patterns. Relief from symptoms lies in discovering and incorporating into our constant, every-day consciousness that which is being masked, distracted from, or indirectly "acted out" in symptoms. Since my training is integrative my approach represents a broad range of therapeutic methods. Each method recognizes the self-healing and self-regulating capacities of the client.

While remaining respectful to each approach, integrative psychotherapy draws from many sources in the belief that no one approach has all the truth. We are all individuals and a specific approach which may be useful for one client may not be for another. The therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for experience, growth and change. As a humanistic Integrative psychotherapist I work towards an authentic meeting of equals in the therapeutic relationship and believe that the healing is dependent on the quality of the relationship.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have trained as an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist and worked within the field for over ten years in areas such as bereavement, addiction, abuse, anxiety and personality disorders. I have also trained as an Executive Coach and Organisational Development Consultant and am a certifieid NLP practitioner.

Additional Information

I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist who has an interest in people and their capacity to develop and change. I enjoy the intimacy of the therapeutic relationship and am often touched by other people's life experience and their willingness to share this with me. To meet at this level I find both stimulating and rewarding. I work with individuals, couples (same-sex and heterosexual); I also facilitate groups. I have trained as an Executive coach and in organisational development.
