Hi. I'm Matthew. I'm a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Clinical Psychologist and a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Clinical Psychologist (CPsychol). I help people to address the causes of problems, reduce symptoms, and live more fully. My private Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy practice is located in East Finchley, London. I also practise in Muswell Hill, London.
I have been a HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist since November 2009 and a BPS Chartered Clinical Psychologist since March 2010, so I have more than 3 years and 6 months of post-registration experience of working with clients. In addition, I gained years of experience of working with clients as part of my training. I work with Individuals and Couples. I'm experienced in working with people from different backgrounds and cultures and the gay community, and helping with the particular challenges they encounter. My specialist experience is in Anxiety, Depression, Gay Issues and Personality Difficulties.
In addition to being a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in East Finchley, London, I have experience as a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and NHS Hospital Clinical Psychologist.

To get the most from Counselling, Psychology and Psychotherapy you will need to be able to participate and work collaboratively.
As a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Clinical Psychologist and British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Clinical Psychologist (CPsychol), I am highly trained and experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Gay Affirmative Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MBCBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to work with people to improve their wellbeing.
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT is an integrated and multimodal approach that draws from evolutionary, social, developmental and Buddhist psychology, and neuroscience. One of its key concerns is to use compassionate mind training to help develop and work with experiences of inner warmth, safeness and soothing, via compassion and self-compassion. Generally 10 to 20 sessions: depends on issue and other factors.
