Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I offer long term and short term psychotherapy and counselling for a variety of issues. I have many years of experience working in the NHS at St Thomas' Hospital as a psychotherapist, as well as in private practice on Harley Street, Central London and in Brompton Cross, Chelsea. I have also worked as a drugs counsellor at the London Drug Agency and as telephone counsellor at Childline. I have also worked as a counsellor for reality TV contestants. Issues I currently work with include anger, gender identity disorder, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, bereavement, psychosexual issues and addiction.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

An initial assessment session is much like a regular therapy session, it is an opportunity to get to see how therapy might work for you, and to see if you feel comfortable working with me. I will ask you what has brought you in to therapy and what you might like to get out of it. During the assessment session I will ask you some questions about your life and history so that I can start to help you gain some understanding of your current struggle. The session though, is yours; yours to bring what ever it is that is troubling you.

If you were to start therapy with me, I would hope that I could help relieve psychological symptoms that you are struggling with, help you generate change and so increase your sense of wellbeing. I practice long term and short term psychotherapy and counselling. I also run a stress counselling clinic. Together, we would build a therapy programme tailored to suit your needs.
