Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am experienced in working with individuals and my clinical experience at Mind and Victim Support has allowed me to gain a particular interest in issues surrounding abandonment, self esteem, identity, cultural issues, diversity and difference. I also have many years of experience working within a corporate environment and as such I understand the difficulties that people face when trying to find a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore I can recognise the importance of coping with ongoing change and can support people to find the tools for this.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am trained to work with people in an integrative way. This means that I pay attention to the whole person. While I draw on psychodynamic and humanistic theories I am also guided by body-oriented psychotherapy to explore unconscious exchanges of thoughts and or feelings. I look to see if these are held in the body, in the breathing, or the movement. If appropriate I may suggest working with some bioenergetic exercises.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

The theoretical content of my training holds within it the contributions of Analytical, Humanistic and Existential Psychology, Bodywork, Psychoanalysis and Transpersonal Psychology. These different approaches offer influential accounts of what factors shape us in our development, how psychological suffering or impairment occurs and what we can do to alleviate it.

I was taught not to bring these various schools of thought together thus creating a new and separate approach. Instead, I recognise the diversity between different points of view and hold these both reflectively and critically within my own practice. I also see my practice to evolve organically through the process and interaction between client and therapist.

I also see clients in Queens Park which is within easy reach of Kilburn, Willesden, Kensal Rise, Ladbrook Grove and Notting Hill. There are very limited parking spaces.

At my Mill Lane counselling and psychotherapy practice there are ample car parking places for people who choose to drive. Parking is free after 12pm.
