Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have over twenty years experience as a Counsellor in both private and NHS practice; the last seven of those years as a BACP Accredited therapist. My counselling work includes referrals from corporate clients and self referrals from private individuals. Although the majority of my contact is one to one therapy I am trained and experienced in counselling couples and in group work. Outside of counselling I ran successful Smoking Cessation groups for the NHS for six years and continue to see individual clients who are keen to quit smoking.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

My style of counselling is based on forming a trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients. Although initially trained to work on a long term basis with clients using an integrative approach I am also qualified in the use of short term and solution focussed approaches.

Clinical Qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I gained my first qualification in counselling in 1983 and subsequent postgraduate qualifications in 2000 and 2006.
