Clinical Experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have experience of working with young people, having been the student counsellor at a college of further education for ten years. I was also manager of the counsellor education programme at this college so have experience of working with student counsellors at all stages of their training. In my private practice I work with individual clients and couples who present with a wide range of issues including identity, relationships and life stages.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

My approach to my work is based in the belief that all individuals have the potential and resources to work through the issues and problems that are worrying them, and through the process of therapy to begin to make changes that enable them to live more fulfilling and satisfying lives. My role in this process is to provide an environment within which together we can create a relationship where the client feels safe, accepted and understood. I take very seriously issues of ethical and professional practice and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework.
